The ultimate itinerary for girls' trip in Barbados.

We grew up wanting to experience the Western teenage culture of summer camping or spring break tours; venturing off with our fun and outgoing friends to varied breathtaking destinations as how it is plotted in our favourite teenage movies. But coming from traditional Indian families backgrounds in rural villages, then you know for sure that won't happen.

Oistins Fishy Fry Fridays

Ten years after and the girls' trip happened. We began our four days Caribbean adventure at Oistins. For us, it was the hub of the West Indian culture, the Tempting vibes of reggae music; red snapper that was grilled to perfection and a variety of other seafood; and the accent that we enjoy mimicking. We have vainly expected to be the only new faces to the locals  only to be stunned by a huge crowd of tourist from different continents, revealed by their bursts of interesting languages. The scenery was beautifully accessorized with a blend of colors from white, black and brown races, banks beer and mount gay rum, super cool dance styles and friendly conversations. Having the chance to model the very best of our wardrobe pieces, that short denim skirt that you have always wanted to wear  but the traditional norms of society back at home prevented us from doing so; not having to be interrupted by the dreaded continuous phone calls from our mothers; not having to obey the ridiculously safe curfews of being at home before nine o clock; this was our moment.

Unearth the adventure at the Harrisons Cave

There are three options of getting around the island, firstly, spend over three hundred dollars at the car rentals; secondly, spend even more for daily taxi services; or thirdly and the option that we chose unhesitatingly, spend a fixed one dollar to travel anywhere around the island by bus. That idled bundle of one dollar notes that we kept in an unsecured box lying around the house really came in handy after all. That mode of transportation safely took us to unearth the adventure at Harrison's Cave. It is a stunning view below the earths crust.

The Tiami Catamaran cruise

Joining the tiami catamaran all inclusive cruise was perhaps the highlight of the trip. On our way to the sea port was a mini tour of picturesque Bridgetown. Five star hotels, beaches, surfing clubs, yacht clubs, the gap, Boardwalk, etc neatly decorated the city. As we sailed along the Caribbean Sea we were entertained by the flamboyant crew with educational facts of the island, an open bar, a lunch buffet of Caribbean cuisine and three fun and exciting stops of snorkeling, it's a beautiful world under the sea; swimming with the turtles; and capturing that epic slow mode plunge and time lapse video of the sailing boat.

Additional features included a surprise visit by the whale and flying fishes. Standing on the yacht with the scenic view of the horizon in the background and our hair dancing with the wind was an awesome photo shoot.

It was the terrifyingly exciting day of all, going to the beach dressed in swimsuits. The idea of traveling to the island is to indulge in the warmth of the crystal clear Caribbean Sea adorned with the palm trees that stood tall and elegant along the white sandy beach. We have now updated our whatsapp profile with that ultimate beach scene photograph. The Caucasians terms of tanning and sun bathing has always been uncleared. East Indians tend to try every mean there possibly is to save their complexion. We wear long sleeves clothing when its hot and sunny and less sleeves when it's rainy. Let's face it, wearing swimsuits is not part of our culture back at home but having to wear swim suits and not having questionable eyes piercing on our bodies was quite comforting as opposed to the reactions received back at home.

Under the sea in the Atlantis Submarine

It's amazing how we meet new friends, at schools; work; on a bus; and even under the sea in the Atlantis submarine. The vibrancy of the aquatic species, thrilling ship wrecks and the peaceful garden like corals was the similar view to the village of our favorite Disney princess, Ariel, under the sea. Not only did we became official submarliners but friends of Shaz and Sabs from London.

The Pier at the Boatyard

There were so many activities to participate in at the Boatyard, jet skiing; relaxing on the pier; grabbing a delicious  chicken wrap with crispy shrimp pops and hot sauce at Sharkey's Bar; and dancing along with the rhythmic waves. It was the ideal venue for the farewell of our trip to the beautiful Barbados.
